Protect your privacy

Use a screen name rather than your full name, and don't share personal details — your address, workplace, or any financial information — with someone you've just met. Your phone number is never shown to other callers, and you decide if and when to exchange contact details.

Trust your instincts

If a conversation feels off, end it. You can always go straight back to browsing other greetings — you're never obligated to keep talking to anyone. Take your time getting to know someone before moving a conversation off the line.

Be respectful

Treat other callers the way you'd want to be treated: be genuine, be kind, and respect a no. The community is at its best when everyone keeps it friendly and consensual. Harassment has no place on the line.

Meeting in person

If you ever choose to meet someone from the line in person, do it in a public place, tell a friend where you'll be, and arrange your own transport. Go at your own pace — there's no rush.
